Privacy & editorial integrity
dime otter collects no personal data, sets no tracking cookies, and runs no analytics, ads or affiliate links. Our reviews are paid for out of pocket, and no app maker has any relationship with this zine. This page is the whole policy.
What we collect (nothing)
This site is plain static pages. There is no account system, no comment box, no contact form, no newsletter, and no analytics script. We don't set cookies, we don't fingerprint browsers, and we don't care which article you read twice. The only external request your browser makes is to Google Fonts for the typefaces; if that bothers you, blocking it costs you nothing but rounder letters. Our web host sees standard server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp), which rotate automatically and are never read by humans for marketing purposes, because there is no marketing department. There is barely a department.
How reviews stay honest
- No sponsorships. No app company has paid us, comped us, or pitched us. velmato, fezelo, fenmaro, noruvo, and every other app we've covered were tested on ordinary consumer accounts we created ourselves.
- No affiliate links. Links out to app sites are plain links. If you install something we recommend, we earn $0.00 — which is exactly what we want to earn from it.
- Dated claims. Every score and price on this site carries a date, because apps change. When we re-test, we update the article and bump the "updated" date at the top.
- Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it in the text with a note, not a silent edit.
Not financial advice
We're three people with a zine, not your financial advisor. Reviews reflect our testing and our opinions; your money decisions are yours. For big ones — debt, investing, taxes — talk to a qualified human who is legally allowed to use the word "advice."
